Ramen Deka was sworn in as the Governor of Chhattisgarh at a ceremony held at Raj Bhavan. After taking the oath, Deka expressed his happiness, stating, “I am very pleased to be the Governor of Chhattisgarh. I will ensure that the state progresses towards development. I will work as a mediator between the Government of Chhattisgarh and the Central Government.”

He added, “I will strive to address geopolitical issues, work on them, and share my views.”

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai extended his heartfelt congratulations to Deka, saying, “Today, Ramen Deka has taken the oath as the new Governor of Chhattisgarh. I wish him all the best. Chhattisgarh and Assam have longstanding ties.”

“Many people from Chhattisgarh have moved to Assam to work in tea gardens and have settled there. Over generations, many have become MLAs and MPs,” CM Sai noted.

He expressed optimism that the friendship between Assam and Chhattisgarh would strengthen further and that the state would make significant progress under Deka’s guidance.

Earlier on July 30, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai bid farewell to former Governor Biswabhusan Harichandan in Mana. Sai praised Harichandan’s tenure, saying, “Under the leadership of former Governor Biswabhusan Harichandan, the state has made significant progress in various sectors. His support was invaluable, and he has assured me that he will maintain his relations with the people of Chhattisgarh.”

Sai also took to X (formerly Twitter) to bid farewell to Harichandan, stating, “Today, we bid farewell to Honourable Governor Shri Biswabhusan Harichandan Ji at the State Hangar in Mana. He has left for Bhubaneswar. Under his guidance, Chhattisgarh has seen remarkable progress. I wish him a long and healthy life. He assured that his affection for the people of Chhattisgarh will remain lifelong.”

The farewell ceremony was held at the State Hangar in Mana before Harichandan departed for Bhubaneswar.
