After months of speculation, Bollywood’s power couple Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh announced their pregnancy early this year. Two years later, the married couple of 2018 announced in February this year that they were expecting their baby in September 2024. Their announcement received a deluge of love and congratulatory messages from industry colleagues like Alia Bhatt, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, and Sonam Kapoor Ahuja.
News18 reports that Deepika is scheduled to deliver the baby at South Bombay Hospital on September 28. The actress, who was last seen in the much-awaited film Kalki 2898 AD, has been in a pretty relaxed mood during her maternity leave as she often made headlines with her chic maternity fashion during her public appearances.
As the lovebirds gear up for this new beginning, speculations are rife that the couple is expecting a baby boy. The rumours started doing rounds when a gifting brand released a post where gifts ordered by Deepika were showcased. The gifts were minimalist brown paper boxes tied with light blue strings and decorated with ceramic hangings in shades of blue and white.
Deepika is all set to spend the next few months with her newborn. Her maternity leave is expected to go on till March 2025. Once she gets back to work, the first project may be the sequel to Kalki 2898 AD, with Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan and Prabhas. The filming of the second instalment may begin early in 2025. Deepika is all set to start The Intern with Amitabh Bachchan.
Talking to Vogue Singapore earlier this year, Deepika said, “Ranveer and I love children. We look forward to the day when we will start our own family… My family keeps me grounded, and Ranveer and I hope to inculcate the same values in our children.”
