Several prominent political families in Haryana faced significant losses in the recent elections. The Bhajan Lal family, known for dominating Hisar’s Adampur seat for over five decades, lost this key constituency. Bhavya Bishnoi, the grandson of former chief minister Bhajan Lal and sitting MLA, was defeated by Congress candidate Chander Prakash by a narrow margin of 1,268 votes. Bhavya’s uncle, Chander Mohan, won the Panchkula seat for Congress, defeating BJP’s Gian Chand Gupta.

In Tosham, two grandchildren of former chief minister Bansi Lal went head-to-head, with BJP’s Shruti Choudhry defeating her cousin Anirudh Chaudhry. Meanwhile, INLD leader Abhay Singh Chautala, grandson of former deputy prime minister Devi Lal, lost the Ellenabad seat, though Devi Lal’s other descendants secured wins in Dabwali and Rania.

Rao Inderjit Singh’s daughter, Aarti Rao, won from Ateli, and Congress leader Randeep Surjewala’s son, Aditya Surjewala, claimed victory in Kaithal.

In total, the BJP won 48 seats in the Haryana assembly, while the Congress secured 37 seats.
