‘Deadpool And Wolverine’ opened in theatres on Friday (July 26) amid much fanfare. The Marvel movie had created a great deal of buzz among fans with its well-received trailer and effective promotional campaign.
The fact that it brings together these much-loved characters too added to the curiosity surrounding the biggie. These factors helped Deadpool And Wolverine open to a thunderous response at the Indian box office as per the initial estimates.
‘Deadpool And Wolverine’ Mania Grips India
Deadpool And Wolverine, starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, hit screens on Friday (July 26) much to the delight to Marvel fans. The film’s got off to a fantastic start at the box office in India as per the early estimates. Ramesh Bala, a trade tracker, told News X that the day 1
“The first two parts of the Deadpool franchise did well. Moreover, Logan is a popular character in India. So, you are getting two for the price of one with this film. The content too is raunchy and the reviews are good. So I expect the day 1 collection to be between Rs 20 crore and Rs 25 crore,” he added.
If this is indeed the case, Deadpool And Wolverine will outperform The Marvels, Marvel’s last theatrical release, by a healthy margin. The Brie Larson-led film netted merely Rs 2 crore on its first day and ended up being a flop.
Going by these figures, the film is also set to outperform Hindi films such as ‘Maidaan’ and ‘Bad Newz’.
