The District Election Officer and Deputy Commissioner, Sushil Sarwan, announced the upcoming celebration of the 14th National Voters› Day on January 25. The event is scheduled to take place in the meeting hall of the Mini Secretariat. Sarwan urged eligible voters, particularly those aged 18 and above, to actively participate in the democratic process by casting their votes.
Highlighting the significance of National Voters› Day, the District Election Officer emphasized that celebrations would occur at the state, district, and booth levels. The theme for the 14th National Voters› Day is «There is nothing like a vote; we will definitely vote,» emphasizing the imperative for every individual to exercise their right to vote. Sarwan encouraged new voters to collect their voter cards from the respective Booth Level Officer (BLO) on January 25. The official informed the public that the final publication of the voter list had been completed on January 22. He urged all voters to thoroughly review their voter cards and report any errors to their BLO or the District Election Officer›s office for rectification.
To engage and encourage young voters, the District Election Office organized essay writing, declamation, and painting competitions. Outstanding participants in these contests will be honored with awards by the Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer during the National Voters› Day celebration.
On the occasion of National Voters› Day, the District Election Officer and Deputy Commissioner extended congratulations to the voters of the district. They expressed a commitment to upholding the democratic traditions of the country, emphasising the importance of free, fair, and peaceful elections. Voters were encouraged to pledge allegiance to the principles of civil democracy, promising to exercise their franchise independently, uninfluenced by factors such as religion, class, caste, community, language, or any other form of inducement. The officials anticipated that voters would uphold the integrity of the electoral process and fearlessly participate in all elections.
