Da’Vine Joy Randolph secured the Best Supporting Actress accolade for her role in the movie ‘The Holdovers’ at the Oscars 2024.

Taking to social media platform ‘X’, The Academy posted with caption,” Congratulations to Da’Vine Joy Randolph for winning the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for ‘The Holdovers’! #Oscars.”

Randolph donned an elegant light blue gown at the Oscars.
She emerged victorious over Emily Blunt (Oppenheimer), Danielle Brooks (The Color Purple), America Ferrera (Barbie), and Jodie Foster (Nyad).

Directed by Alexander Payne and set in 1970, ‘The Holdovers’ features Paul Giamatti as Paul Hunham, a cantankerous history teacher at a prestigious boarding school. He’s entrusted with caring for the students who can’t return home for the holidays. When all other students depart, Angus Tully (Dominic Sessa) finds himself stranded with only his teacher and Mary (Randolph), the grieving kitchen manager mourning her son’s loss. As this unconventional trio spends the holidays together, they forge an unexpected bond, as reported by Variety.

Oscars 2024 was held at the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood, hosted by Jimmy Kimmel.
