A group of CRPF women bikers is being organised to spread awareness about the importance of girl child and celebrate women’s power, a rally of ‘Yashaswini.’ The Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India, in collaboration with the CRPF, is organising this rally from Srinagar to Kanyakumari. The rally will conclude on 31 October.
The Yashaswini bike campaign is scheduled from 5 October to 31 October, spanning from Srinagar in the north to Shillong in the east and Kanyakumari in the south. The campaign features 3 teams of 25 women bikers each, along with 50 women volunteers, riding on 75 Royal Enfield (350cc) motorcycles. These women are CRPF officers from Rajasthan and will participate in events along their route in various districts.
Under this campaign, various programs will be held in different districts of Rajasthan from 21 to 24 October. Events will be organised during the bike rally’s entry into Rajasthan’s districts. Various programs will be conducted in Alwar, Jaipur, Ajmer, Rajsamand, and Udaipur. The Secretary of the Women and Child Development Department, Jitendra Upadhyay, gave instructions during the department’s meeting to ensure necessary arrangements for the rally.
During the department’s meeting, attendees included Vikram Sahgal, Inspector General of Police of CRPF’s Rajasthan sector, Commandant Poonam Gupta, Commissioner of Women’s Rights Rashmi Gupta, Director of Integrated Child Development Services Ramavatar Meena, Police Superintendent Prahlad Krishna, and additional district collectors among others.
