A Central Reserve Police Force died allegedly of suicide as he killed himself with an AK-47 rifle according to sources on Tuesday.
The officer, identified as Sunil Kumar, was posted to the CRPF’s 4th Battalion as the 2IC. “A Central Reserve Police Force officer died allegedly of suicide by shooting himself with an AK-47 rifle in the bathroom of his office in Raighar, Odisha, today morning.
The soldier was using his service weapon while performing sentry duty, according to the Army, and the incident “purportedly seems to be an attempted suicide.” He was taken to a hospital, where he passed away from his wounds.
