Chief Minister Bhajan lal Sharma, held a review meeting of the Home Department at the Chief Minister’s Office. During this, he instructed that the police should work with full vigilance and promptness to maintain law and order in the state. He also said that keeping the prestige of the law high is the priority of the state government and it is the responsibility of the police to ensure this. He encouraged the police system for reducing crimes against women and Scheduled Caste-Tribe class. At the same time, he gave instructions to deal strictly with the criminals involved in cybercrime and illegal drug trade. He told the police officers that your alertness and vigilance plays an important role in maintaining law and order.
While talking about zero tolerance against crime, has clearly instructed the police officers that criminals should be afraid of the police. He also said that the fear should be such that criminals stop committing crimes or leave the state. In order to prevent anti-social elements who intend to spread anarchy and unrest in the state, instructions were given to maintain law and order by making the best use of the police intelligence system and informer system.
Appreciating the police Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma said that the police are continuously working to deal with cybercrime. Cyber police stations have also been formed. He praised the work being done to prevent cybercrime in Bharatpur. He said that the police department should continuously monitor cybercrime. Also, the police department should be reviewed every month. Sharma said that there are about 90 thousand CLG members and 31 thousand 441 Gram Rakshaks in the state. Through community policing, a supportive role is being played in crime control, awareness in the society and maintaining law and order. He said that innovations should be encouraged and those who are helping the police in preventing crime should be honored and rewarded. Also, strict action should be taken against criminals and anti-social elements.
Reduction in crimes against women, SC-ST
The Chief Minister said that due to the alertness and vigilance of the police department, the graph of crimes in the state has fallen sharply as compared to last year. At the state level, there has been a 7.3 percent reduction in total crimes in the state. Also, there has been a significant reduction of 8.8 percent in atrocities against women and 13.96 percent in cases of atrocities against Scheduled Castes and Tribes. He also said that drugs are very harmful for the young generation from the social and health point of view. The tendency of addiction destroys the entire family. The Narcotics Department should take action against addiction by fixing responsibility. Our aim is to save the youth from the tendency of drug consumption.
Incidents related to mobile phones in jails should not be repeated
Sharma took cognizance of mobile phone related incidents in jails and gave strict instructions to not repeat them in future. He said that if criminals are found using mobile phones in the jail premises, the responsibility of the concerned jail personnel will be fixed and strict action will be taken against them. At the same time, praising the investigations being done by SOG in the paper leak cases, he said that the action of SOG is being applauded all over the country. The state government worked by adopting a zero tolerance policy in these cases. If the police department is strong, the reputation of the state increases in the country. He said that the Rajasthan Police is doing an excellent job in controlling crime.
