The Crime Branch arrested the vicious thief, and the accused’s arrest led to the revelation of 20 more thefts. Police recovered expensive gold and silver jewelry and other valuables from the possession of the accused. Under the leadership of ACP Crime Arvind Kamboj, Crime Branch Sector 19, Mohinder Singh, and his team succeeded in uncovering more than 20 theft incidents that took place in the Panchkula district in the last few days.
ACP Crime Arvind Kamboj said that Sadip Kumar, a resident of Hall Tenant Sector 9 Panchkula, had lodged a complaint that in the evening, an unknown person entered the house, broke the latches of the windows and doors, and took away water bottles and other valuables from the house. Based on the complaint, a case was registered at Sector 5 police station. Further investigation in the case was carried out by Crime Branch Sector 19. Based on CCTV cameras and secret sources, the team of Crime Branch Sector 19 arrested an accused, Pawan Kumar, a resident of village Guleria, District Bahaich, Uttar Pradesh, hall tenant Budhanpur Sector 16 Panchkula, and took him on a 6-day police remand from the court.
During interrogation in remand, the accused revealed that he had committed about 18 theft incidents in different sectors of Panchkula city. The police recovered from his possession one Canon camera (3 lenses), one bedsheet (packet), Bajaj company electric extension, 30 silver coins (280 grams), 15 Punjabis (444.90 grams), one silver ring, seven silver glasses, two silver bowls, one 15.55-gram gold mangal sutra, one gold earring (2.65 grams), five pairs of silver earrings (27.75 grams), one gold locket, three pairs of earrings, one gold locket, one silver glass, three smart TVs, a Lenovo laptop, a trolley bag, a gas cylinder, and Rs 50 thousand.
