The work done by BJP youth leaders on the ground and on social media-including adding new members to the party- will now attract credit points for these leaders which will then be used to judge the ability of these leaders and whether to give them bigger responsibilities or not.
This idea is a part of the strategy being devised by the BJP, led by union minister and Lok Sabha Member of Parliament, Anurag Singh Thakur in preparation for the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.
Thakur, on Monday, held a meeting with young party leaders and social media influencers in which among other issues, deliberation was carried out on how to spread the message of the government platform for youth development, ‘Mera Yuva Bharat’ or MY Bharat.
The aim of this platform is to develop leadership skills among youth, in the age group of 15-29 years, to make them social innovators and leaders in the communities. MY Bharat is an autonomous body, and it was dedicated to the nation on October 31, the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
In the almost two hours discussion with the leaders and influencers, Thakur asked them to connect 2 crore youths from across the country to this platform by 12 January while seeking suggestions from them to make this initiative more fruitful. The leaders were asked to give ideas on how the youth can be apprised more about the MYBharat’s website and mobile app.
Among the suggestions that was arrived upon included reaching out to colleges, universities, NGOs, sports academics through physical interaction and by using social media, Youtube, Whatsapp, Twitter and Instagram so that more young people can be attracted towards MYBharat.
As suggested by influencers – 30 seconds creative ads for the BJP will be created and pushed on social media as youths have an attention span of just 30 secs. Most of the influencers that were part of the meet have 75% of their followers who are between the age group of 19 to 35 years
The social media influencers, who were a part of the meeting, will be pushing the MYBharat content to their followers.
The other aim of this exercise is to understand and get an idea of what are the aspirations and expectations of the youth which will help the BJP to formulate electoral policies for 2024 general elections. It is expected that the BJP will get relevant data right to the block level through this exercise. Thakur will take stock of the progress made by the youth leaders and influencers in the first week of January.
