Councillor Sonia Sood initiated various development projects in sector 10 on Sunday, addressing long-standing demands from the sector’s residents. Repairs have commenced on the broken concrete bricks drain near Sanatan Dharam Mandir, with the Panchkula Municipal Corporation allocating approximately Rs 25 lakh for the restoration.
Additionally, the security gates in Sector 10 are undergoing a facelift, with a painting budget of around Rs 40 thousand. House no. in Sector 10, which was previously a dumping ground, has now been transformed into a concrete space, providing residents with a designated parking area.
Addressing safety concerns, high mast lights have been installed near the hotels in Sector 10, where evening darkness and anti-social activities were prevalent. Councilor Sonia Sood inaugurated these lights, which were implemented at a cost of Rs 6 lakh.
The installation aims to deter criminal activities such as snatching, and illegal encroachments near the hotels have been cleared. The cleared area has been paved, creating parking space for 25-30 vehicles. The inauguration event witnessed the presence of notable figures, including former Chairman of Zilla Parishad Umesh Sood, Head of Temple Committee Premlal Gupta, and other community leaders.
