Amidst concerns raised by numerous parents regarding their children’s well-being during the current chilly weather, Sector 15 Councillor, Saurabh Joshi, has appealed to the Administration to grant an exemption for children up to 9th grade, allowing them to attend school in the online mode for the next 10 days.
Given the extremely cold, foggy, and unpredictable weather conditions, parents have expressed worries about their children contracting flu and falling ill due to exposure to such harsh weather. Additionally, concerns have been raised about low visibility in the morning, especially when children commute to schools using buses and vans. Saurabh Joshi shares these concerns, particularly regarding the deteriorating Air Quality Index (AQI) in the city due to the absence of rain.
Parents have stressed their apprehensions about the adverse health effects on children exposed to such polluted air. With the final exams looming, parents are keen to ensure their children do not fall ill and miss these crucial examinations.
They have fervently requested the Councillor to approach the Administration and advocate for shifting children up to the 9th grade across all schools to online classes for the next 10 days.
Considering the India Meteorological Department’s warning of more cold and foggy days ahead, opting for online classes is seen as a prudent measure to protect children from the challenging weather conditions and pollution.
