After being isolated in the Lok Janshakti Party (LJP), Chirag Paswan tries to show his strength by holding a national executive meeting in New Delhi on Sunday, claiming 65 out of 74 members are with him. He also announced that he would hold a roadshow across Bihar on the occasion of his father’s birth anniversary on 5 July.
“My father’s birth anniversary falls on 5 July. My father and uncle are not with me anymore. So, we’ve decided to take out an ‘Aashirvaad Yatra’ from 5th July from Hajipur. Yatra will pass through all districts of Bihar, we need more love and blessings from people,” he said after the meeting. While talking about the meeting, he said: “The demand was raised to confer the Bharat Ratna upon the late Ram Vilas Paswan and install a big statue of him in Bihar.”
The Paras faction has claimed that the meeting called by Chirag Paswan is not legal as he is no longer the president of the party. While talking to The Daily Guardian, Paras said, “As party president, I have already disbanded all bodies and state units affiliated with the party. So, this meeting is not legal.”
