A 52-year-old construction worker from Bihar was reportedly fatally assaulted in Sector 106 by a group of fellow workers under the supervision of their leader. Despite pleading for assistance, the victim endured a relentless beating until his demise, as stated by the police.
Avesh Alam (52) from Kishanganj in Bihar was staying at Surabhi Labour camp in Mohamad Hedi village and worked at the construction site of a real estate company. Around 9pm on Sunday, the labour camp supervisor Shiv Narayan, along with around half a dozen other youths, attacked Avesh, accusing him of causing losses to them.
The accused allegedly dragged the victim to his room and beat him to death. During this time, other workers present in the camp locked themselves in their respective rooms to avoid the group’s wrath.

Ubed Alam, a relative of the victim who works at a construction site near the camp, said the accused continued to beat Avesh even when he kept on pleading that was unaware about the issue. “He requested them to wait till the next morning to talk about it, but the accused didn’t listen to him and kept on kicking and punching him,” said Ubed.

In his complaint to police, Ubed said Alam was dragged to his room. “We kept hearing the noises of thrasing and Avesh’s screams for help, but no one dared to intervene fearing the backlash from the Shiv Narayan,” said Ubed.

Once the sounds ceased and the group left, the workers rushed to the room and found Avesh unconscious. They tried to rouse him, but got no response.
Some of the residents of the camp alerted police and a team from Rajendra Park police station soon arrived at the spot. They took Avesh to hospital, where he was declared brought dead.

A case was registered against the accused under sections 148 (rioting with weapon), 147 (rioting) and 302 (murder) of the IPC at Rajendra Park police station on Sunday night.
Varun Dahiya, ACP (Crime), stated that an investigation is currently underway and efforts are being made to apprehend all the suspects as soon as possible. «The motive behind the conflict resulting in the murder will only be determined once the accused individuals are arrested,» he added.
