In Chandigarh Police, the wife of a constable, who was being harassed by the HHO and Munshi of Sector 26 police station, appeared before the DGP at Sector 9 police headquarters on Tuesday and lodged a written complaint against the above-mentioned officers.
On Monday evening, Havildar Krishna Kumar’s BP had gone down due to tension, due to which he was admitted to Sector 16 hospital. According to the information received, there is discrimination against the employees in giving weekly rest in the police station, due to which this problem has arisen. Whereas Chandigarh UT Police DGP has issued orders to give weekly rest to all the employees.
In the complaint given to the DGP, the woman alleged that her husband Havildar Krishna Kumar is posted in 1250 Police Station-26. HHO Devendra Singh and Munshi MHC Avtar Singh of Sector 26 police station have been harassing my husband physically and mentally for the last 3 months for not fulfilling their demands for liquor and money.
He has already informed about this to SDPO/East and Reader SDPO/East. Due to the dictatorship of HHO and Munshi, my husband had to be admitted to the hospital on Monday. My husband had asked for his week off from the above-mentioned employee. The woman told that my husband has been doing night duty since last month without any weekly/monthly rest. On Monday, 5th February, my husband went to Police Station-26 for weekly rest, where MHC Avtar Singh refused to give rest and used abusive language and misbehaved with him.
My husband informed this to SDPO/East and then informed SHO-26 over the phone. SHO 26 refused to grant weekly rest by using abusive language against my husband, due to this incident my husband became unconscious inside Police Station 26; none of the staff of Police Station 26 woke him up, neither They neither informed the control room nor the emergency helpline 112 and the family members, in which you can see the CCTV footage of Police Station-26 from 3:00 PM to 5:30 PM on 05 February 2024.
Later, someone informed my brother-in-law ASI Pradeep, who came from Vigilance Office Sector-9 to Police Station 26 and took him to General Hospital Sector 16 in the Lima vehicle of Police Station-26. No one from Police Station 26 reached GMSH, Sector-16, to know the health condition of my husband. The woman told that even earlier in the month of December, the MHC and SHO of Police Station-26 had refused to give leave to her husband when he was suffering from severe back pain.
The woman has demanded from the DGP to take departmental action against the SHO and Munshi of Police Station 26.
