Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav said that the party will announce its candidates for VIP Lok Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh during Navratri. This announcement of SP has shocked Congress and has further changed the political dynamics before the elections. Congress has to decide on an alliance with the SP before the Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections.
This announcement has also made it clear that SP will be generous in UP only if Congress gives seats in Madhya Pradesh. In Uttar Pradesh, the Samajwadi Party, Rashtriya Lok Dal and Apna Dal, along with Congress, are in an alliance with opposition parties. Samajwadi Party is the largest party in this alliance from the point of view of UP.
The news of the candidate’s announcement has once again increased the restlessness of the other parties in the alliance, especially the Congress. While talking to the media during an event in Lucknow, Samajwadi Party National President Akhilesh Yadav said that the India Alliance has made a strategy to defeat the BJP on VIP Lok Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh. He said that BJP’s departure from the Center is certain during the parliamentary elections.
During this, the SP chief also talked about the strategy of PDA i.e. Backward, Dalit and Minority. Akhilesh Yadav further said that in 2014, the backward people and Dalits had given power at the centre to the BJP government. The SP supremo made it clear that only the party which gets the support of backward and Dalits will win.
According to the discussions going on in the political circles, the Samajwadi Party can announce the names of candidates on 10-12 seats of UP during Navratri. These include five seats on which members of the Yadav family contest elections. One of these VIP seats can be of Mainpuri, from where Dimple Yadav can contest. Dimple had also won the by-election held here by a huge margin. Although BJP had fourth hard for this seat in the by-election, SP had won.
The second seat will be Kannauj, from where Akhilesh Yadav can contest the elections. Over the third seat, Akshay Yadav’s candidature from Firozabad seat is also almost certain. Shivpal Yadav himself has announced this. Talking about the fourth and fifth seats, the party can field Dharmendra Yadav from Badaun and Shivpal Yadav from Azamgarh seat.
