Deepak Babaria, the new in-charge of Congress’s Haryana affairs, has sensed the party’s factionalism and leaders’ tussle very well in the very first meeting. By feeling the pulse of the Congressmen, they have understood the situation of the state very well.
On two consecutive days on Saturday and Sunday, he held marathon meetings with current and former MPs-MLAs and senior leaders at the state Congress headquarters in Chandigarh. A group meeting was also held and he heard the leaders and workers one-to-one.
It has been decided from their meeting that the party organization will not be formed yet. First they will understand the situation completely, only then they will decide on the selection of state executive, district and block president.
It is quite possible that the existing list of office bearers hanging at the center level should be canceled and prepared afresh. Babaria has indicated to continue the round of meetings as well.
He had one-to-one dialogue with MLAs and senior leaders till 12 midnight on Saturday. After this, on Sunday also, apart from many current and former MLAs, he interacted with leaders and workers from different districts.
He also met district-wise with the leaders and workers. Due to rareness of time, he could not meet the leaders and workers of the districts coming under Ambala Parliament on Sunday.
He has assured the leaders of this Parliament to meet them next week. That is, next week he may again be scheduled to visit Chandigarh. Not only this, during the personal meeting, he has invited many MLAs, former ministers-MLAs and senior leaders to New Delhi.
It is clear from this that they are going to continue this dialogue so that apart from the political situation of the state, the complete ground report regarding the situation of the Congress can come to them.
Not only this, in the coming days, he has also made a program to go among the workers in all the districts. Babaria himself said this during the meeting with the workers on Sunday. He has asked all the leaders to work to strengthen the party at the booth level.
For this, they should also give their suggestions so that they can be implemented on the ground. The big thing is that during the private meeting, the leaders of the Hooda camp said bluntly that the Congress government in the state can be formed only under the leadership of Hooda.
On the other hand, the leaders of the anti-Hooda camp alleged that some people have captured the Congress. There is a need to take all the leaders along. Every leader should get respect in the party. The issue of honor was also raised by many leaders in the mass meeting.
In a private meeting, the leaders of the anti-Hooda camp also made allegations that special caste people are being given attention. People of other castes are continuously moving away from Congress because of this. The incharge listened to everyone, but did not make any comment from his side.
He continued the conversation till 4.30 pm on Sunday. During this, Narayangarh MLA Shelli Gurjar, Ladwa MLA Meva Singh, Mulana MLA Varun Chowdhary, Kalka MLA Pradeep Chowdhary, Executive State President Ramkishan Gurjar, former Deputy Chief Minister Chandramohan Bishnoi, former MLA Major Nripendra Singh, Lahari Singh, Parminder Singh Dhul, Mahila Congress President Sudha Bhardwaj Several senior leaders including Rajkumar Valmiki, Jasbir Singh Mallor and former Chief Parliamentary Secretary Sharda Rathore met him.
During the discussion, most of the leaders raised the issue of organization formation in front of the in-charge. He said that the party cannot be strengthened without organization.
