Mallikarjun Kharge, President of Congress on Tuesday said that they would raise the issues of inflation, unemployment, and border dispute with China during the Budget session of Parliament.
“We wanted to participate in the President’s maiden address but arrived here late due to the weather conditions, for which we apologise. In this Budget session, we will raise the issues of inflation, unemployment and border dispute with China,” said Kharge.
The party will bring up the problem of government banks giving particular entrepreneurs huge loans, according to the Congress chief.
“We’ve made the decision to bring up the problems we believe are not in the best interests of the nation, and we’re asking the administration about them, but they’re not responding to us.
They (the Centre) should be praising the leader (Rahul Gandhi) instead of calling him a fool for walking from Kanyakumari to Kashmir to raise the flag. This demonstrates their lack of concern for anyone’s well-being “Kharge continued.
“Due to the delayed flights from Srinagar airport on account of inclement weather conditions, Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge and many other Congress MPs will be unable to attend the President’s address to both Houses of Parliament at 11 am today,” Jairam Ramesh said in a tweet.
At 11 a.m. in Central Hall of Parliament, President Droupadi Murmu delivered her inaugural speech to the joint session of the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, officially opening the budget session of Parliament.
Prior to Wednesday’s presentation of the Union Budget 2023–24, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman also laid the Economic Survey before the House of Representatives.
The Modi administration’s final full-fledged Union Budget before the 2024 Lok Sabha elections will be this one.
Later, the Finance Minister placed an English and Hindi copy of the Economic Survey, 2022–2023, along with its Highlights and Statistical Appendix, on the table.
