Senior leader and former Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament MA Khan resigned from the party’s primary membership on Saturday, dealing yet another blow to the Congress by criticising Rahul Gandhi for “not knowing how to behave with seniors.”

He claimed that things began “going wrong” after Rahul Gandhi was named vice president of the party committee. The angry leader claims that because of his actions, Congress has “fallen.”

“I resigned from Congress. Things started going downhill after Rahul Gandhi handled the post of VP of the party committee. He has a different thought process of his own, which doesn’t match with any member, from block level to booth level,” he reportedly said.

He additionally said, “The result of this led to the downfall of Congress. It has reached a point that even veteran members of the party who have strengthened the party for decades are now leaving. He doesn’t know how to behave with senior members.”

Khan and other well-known politicians have left Congress this year, making it challenging for the party to gain traction in the next elections.

In a letter to Congress President Sonia Gandhi earlier on Friday, veteran Congressman Ghulam Nabi Azad announced his resignation from all offices in the party, including primary membership.

The Congress is having trouble maintaining its own leaders’ composure as it gears up for its 148-day march from Kanyakumari to Kashmir, which will end on September 7 and be led by party head Rahul Gandhi.
