Congress releases 13-point manifesto for Punjab

Congress promised to end mafia ‘raj’ in sand, liquor, and cable businesses; Rs 1,100 to women; eight free cooking gas cylinders a year; and one lakh government jobs in the 13-point poll manifesto.

Just few hours before the election campaign ended, Congress released its 13 point manifesto for Punjab on Friday. In this manifesto, Congress has made many big promises to the people of Punjab. In the manifesto, Congress has promised government jobs to one lakh people as soon as the government is formed. Apart from this, the party has also promised to break the monopoly of cable, provide free cylinders, free education and free health services. CM Charanjit Singh Channi, State President Navjot Singh Sidhu, in-charge Harish Chaudhary and Pawan Kheda were present on the stage during the release of the manifesto in Chandigarh.

Releasing the manifesto, CM Channi said, “I will give one lakh jobs from the first signature.” Congress has promised five lakh government jobs in five years. CM Channi also said on this occasion that he will make sure every employee’s issues would be sorted in time. On the question of drones, drugs from across the border, Channi said, “All this is being done to scare Punjab amid the times of the elections.”

Navjot Singh Sidhu said that this is a 13 point agenda, which is influenced by Baba Nanak. He said that our campaign is a positive campaign. We are telling people what we are going to do for Punjab. The fruit of the tree has come out and we want to feed the fruit to the people.

Congress made several promises that include: Breaking the cable’s monopoly will bring the cable rate from 400 to 200; 1100 rupees per month and eight cylinders free to women in a year; As soon as the government is formed, one lakh people will get government jobs, and jobs to five lakh people in five years; Pension of the elderly will be increased to 3100; Will make every kutcha house concrete; Will give free education in government schools and will make government schools better than private ones; Will give free health service. The government will buy the entire crop of oilseeds, maize and pulses; 20 thousand more computers will be given to the girls who pass 12th; Under MNREGA 150 days wages will be given and daily wages will not be less than 350; Will give interest free loan to start ups from 2 lakh to 12 lakh; Interest free loan of 2 to 12 lakhs for domestic and small scale industries; Will end Inspector Raj; Door Step Delivery of Government Documents; Releasing the manifesto, Chief Minister Channi said, “People of Punjab will bless by Krishna, I will serve as Sudama.”

During this, he said that Sidhu’s Punjab model will be implemented. CM said that it will be my priority to get free education for all, scholarship will be started for the poor of the forward castes along with the Scheduled Castes and backward classes.
