Vijay Wadettiwar, a senior Congress leader, raised concerns about the failure of central investigative agencies, such as the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), to apprehend individuals involved in leaking recruitment examination papers conducted by the government. He also criticized the Maharashtra government led by Eknath Shinde for paper leak incidents and called on them to implement measures to prevent such malpractices.
Wadettiwar, who is the leader of the opposition in the Maharashtra Assembly, questioned the inability of efficient investigative agencies like the ED and CBI to identify those responsible for paper leaks, particularly in the context of recruitment examinations. He expressed his concerns regarding these issues in a statement.
In the past month, an examination intended to recruit talathis (revenue department employees) in Maharashtra was postponed due to technical reasons. “After the talathi recruitment fiasco, there are instances of paper leaks in the similar hiring procedures of Mumbai police and state forest department. Why efficient probe agencies like ED and CBI fail to nab the people behind it?” the leader of opposition in the Maharashtra assembly asked in a statement.
