Raman Singh, former chief minister of Chhattisgarh, attended the India News Forum. He discussed the efforts carried out throughout his term during the tenure. Regarding the accomplishments of the current Bhupesh Baghel, Raman Singh claimed that the government has fallen short on several significant subjects. “The houses that were supposed to be built under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana for the 16 lakh poor families in this state could not be built simply because the government failed to provide the required 40% amount. This government will be in office in Chhattisgarh for three and a half years. Such a large plan has never been implemented in India, and it ought to be flatly refused. “
“As soon as this government took office, a class culture was abolished. Bids are now being accepted in Chhattisgarh for the positions of Collector and SP. If bids are submitted for such important posts, no one knows how the state’s administration will operate. Overall, the government has been a failure. “
He further added, “During our administration, Chhattisgarh had a budget of $9,000 crores. The amount rose to 93,000 crores. The GDP increased from 38 thousand to 2 lakh 90 thousand. We used Chhattisgarh’s per capita income, which was between $70,000 and $80,000. Following the creation of Chhattisgarh, the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana allowed for the construction of 1,200 km of roads. From 1 nursing college to 86 nursing colleges, our government has grown from 222 colleges to 468 colleges. In our time, IITs, IIMs, NITs, and National Law Universities have emerged. We distributed rice from the Chief Minister’s food security programme at a cost of Rs.1 kg to 70 lakh migrant workers from Chhattisgarh. “
Raman Singh claimed that development has come to a total halt during the past three years when discussing the impending elections. “The settlements don’t have any paved roads. In Chhattisgarh, there are 60 000 kilometres of roads, yet the government does not even have the resources to maintain them.”
Calling out the government, he added, “In Chhattisgarh, corruption is at an all-time high. Chhattisgarh’s administration is rife with fraud. He had stated that he would provide a vacancy allowance of Rs.2500, but it has been delayed for four years. Unemployment benefits have not even been granted a single rupee. Despite having made a promise to ban alcohol, the service of delivering alcohol to homes is still in operation today. We hired more than 1 lakh teachers and 70.000 police officers. We will approach the public with all of these issues. “
