In a sharp retort to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent ‘balak buddhi’ jab at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, the Congress party has launched a spirited ‘bael buddhi’ campaign across social media platforms. This campaign aims to counter PM Modi’s characterization of Rahul Gandhi as having a ‘childlike mind’ by labeling the Prime Minister himself as ‘bael buddhi’ (meaning dumb).

The Congress party took to social media with a series of posts and memes mocking PM Modi’s remarks. One post asked, “Do you know who is bael buddhi? The one who talks nonsense,” alongside excerpts of PM Modi’s statements, including his claim of having a photographic memory, which Congress uses to substantiate their critique.

This clash erupted following PM Modi’s taunt at Rahul Gandhi during a Parliament session, where he referred to the Congress leader as ‘balak buddhi’, implying childish behavior. PM Modi criticized Rahul’s conduct in the Lok Sabha, accusing him of theatrics to gain sympathy.

“The entire Congress ecosystem is busy pleasing a child these days,” PM Modi remarked, suggesting that Rahul Gandhi’s actions are driven by a desire for sympathy rather than substance. PM Modi stated that the Parliament observed the cries of someone exhibiting “balak buddhi” (childlike behavior).

The Prime Minister proceeded to share another metaphorical story to ridicule the Congress’s performance in the Lok Sabha elections.

“I remember a story about a boy who proudly boasted of scoring 99 marks, displaying his achievement to everyone. People praised him upon hearing the number 99, boosting his confidence. However, his teacher then revealed, ‘He didn’t score 99 out of 100, but out of 543.’ Now, who will explain to that misguided boy that he has actually set a world record for failure?” PM Modi remarked.
