The Congress party scheduled a meeting for 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday in the party’s parliamentary office. Additionally, the Congress has issued a three-line whip requiring its Lok Sabha MPs to be in the House of Representatives today. It is significant that the opposition parties have chosen to move a motion of no confidence in the BJP-led national government in the Lok Sabha today. According to Adhir Ranjan Chowdhary, the leader of the Congress in the Lok Sabha, “Opposition parties will bring a no-confidence motion against the government in Lok Sabha tomorrow.”

Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha have faced adjournments over opposition demands for a detailed discussion on the situation in Manipur and a statement from Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The government has said it is ready for discussion on Manipur but the opposition parties are pressing for discussion under a rule which also entails voting.
