Congress Rajya Sabha MP from Chhattisgarh Phulo Devi Netam on Friday fainted in the Upper House during the House proceedings when opposotion was demanding for a discussion on NEET issue and was rushed to hospital.

Netam fainted when the opposition members were raising their demand for a detailed discussion on NEET issue, which has turned into a major issue across the country over the alleged paper leaks and rigging in the results.

She was rushed to Ram Manohar Lohia hospital and discharged later after some tests. In a post on X, formerly Twitter, Congress general secretary and communication incharge Jairam Ramesh said, “Amidst all the chaos in the Rajya Sabha today because of the adamant refusal of the government to agree to an immediate discussion on NEET, NET, and other paper leak scandals, Congress MP Phulo Devi Netam, who is recovering from dengue, suddenly collapsed and had to be rushed to Ram Manohar Lohia hospital. We hope she recovers quickly. All INDIA MPs have gone to meet her.”

Congress chief and Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge and several other opposition MPs also visited her in the hospital.
