The controversy surrounding Navjot Singh Sidhu continues within the Punjab Congress as the party’s state in-charge, Devendra Yadav, arrived in Jalandhar for a Mission 2024 meeting today.
During this, he held discussions with all Congress leaders and workers and urged them to inform the Congress High Command about the coalition in Punjab. During the meeting, Congress leaders and workers told Devendra Yadav not to form an alliance with ‘AAP.’ Devendra Yadav hinted at suspending party member Praneet Kaur from Patiala and introducing a new face for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
When asked about Navjot Singh Sidhu not attending the meeting in Jalandhar, Congress State Committee in-charge Devendra Yadav seemed hesitant to respond, stating that the entire Congress leadership is present here. He mentioned that he has discussed the alliance with AAP with the Congress High Command. Alongside this, Punjab Congress in-charge Devendra Yadav and Pratap Singh Bajwa issued a warning without taking Sidhu’s name.
Devendra Yadav said that most workers in Punjab complain that action is taken against small leaders breaking discipline, not against big leaders. I will inform the party headquarters, no leader has the right to break discipline, whether big or small.
Yadav mentioned that Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge will visit Punjab on February 11. As for Kharge’s program location, no concrete place has been decided yet. Meanwhile, Pratap Singh Bajwa said that when the toe is filled with poison, it should be cut off, or else later the whole leg might have to be amputated, causing more harm.
