To assess and address the developmental needs of Jinab Sahab Anchar Soura, the Divisional Commissioner (Div Com) Kashmir, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri, conducted a comprehensive visit to the Mosque, Shrine, and the surrounding locality. Accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad, Commissioner SMC/CEO SSCL Athar Amir, SE PWD, and officials from the District Administration and Revenue Department, the Div Com engaged in a detailed inspection and dialogue with the locals.
Responding to the Shrine and Masjid Committee’s plea for the mosque’s reconstruction, Div Com emphasized the heritage significance of the structure and allocated 1.75 crores for facade development and renovation. He further committed to collaborating with the Waqf Board for the proposed construction of a new mosque adjacent to the Shrine.
Turning attention to the Wazu Khana, Div Com directed the SMC to initiate a comprehensive renovation, including new window panes, tile work, and additional facilities. The local community advocated for a modern playground with a high mast and floodlights for sports and recreational activities. Div Com assured the development of the playground, complete with a walking path and fencing.
Acknowledging concerns about road connectivity, drainage, and the dog menace, Div Com instructed the SE, PWD, to expedite earth filling for the remaining road segment and explore the feasibility of constructing an additional road. The Commissioner SMC pledged to address the dog menace promptly.
During the visit, Bidhuri inspected the lake spring at the Shrine of Jinab Sahab Soura, urging the SMC and locals to initiate a collective cleanliness drive to revive and beautify the site. The Div Com emphasized the importance of restoring the pristine beauty of the landscape around the spring. The visit reflects the commitment of the Divisional Administration to enhance the overall infrastructure and well-being of the locality.
