Three men have been apprehended in connection with the alleged rape of seven college girls in Madhya Pradesh’s Sidhi district. The suspects reportedly employed a voice-changing app, Magic Voice, to deceive their victims by impersonating their teacher.

According to statements from IG Rewa Range Mahendra Singh Sikarwar, the number of victims could potentially rise as investigations unfold.

Among the detained individuals is the prime accused, Brajesh Prajapati (30), along with his associates, Rahul Prajapati and Sandeep Prajapati. Brajesh Prajapati, who has been married twice and has a daughter, allegedly discovered voice-altering applications through online platforms like YouTube.

The modus operandi involved the accused contacting college girls, posing as their teacher, “Ranjana Madam,” using the Magic Voice app. They would entice the girls with promises of scholarships, instructing them to meet at isolated locations under the guise of submitting required documents. Once the victims arrived, believing they were meeting their teacher, they were allegedly assaulted.

All the victims targeted in the case belong to the ST (Scheduled Tribe) category, with the accused specifically selecting colleges offering scholarships.

Four out of the seven assaulted girls have filed complaints, prompting a police investigation that led to the arrest of the main perpetrator. Further inquiries revealed the involvement of two additional accomplices, who were subsequently apprehended.

Authorities anticipate the identification of more victims as the investigation progresses.
