The historic event of the Ram temple consecration in Ayodhya sparked joyous celebrations among students from various educational institutions in Delhi. The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) orchestrated diverse programmes, including lamp lighting, bhajans, Hanuman Chalisa recitations, bhandara, etc., at different locations throughout the capital. Enthusiastic students from Delhi University, Jawaharlal Nehru University, Jamia Millia Islamia, and those preparing for competitive exams actively participated in the festivities.
The Delhi University campus was adorned with garlands and vibrant balloons, extending from the metro station to Hansraj College. The Arts Faculty featured a live telecast of the Ram temple consecration on an LED screen, allowing students to witness the historic moment. Led by ABVP, the Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU) illuminated the entire university with 250,000 lamps, and a significant number of students engaged in the lamp-lighting ceremony.
Some colleges conducted hawan puja to commemorate the occasion.
Anirudh, a third-year student, expressed, “It feels like Diwali came early this year. I am lucky to be alive to see this day, as I have never experienced such a divine power before in my life.” Beyond Delhi University, students at JNU also shared their joy and pride in the consecration of the Ram temple. Throughout the day, the educational campuses in Delhi exuded a Ram-like ambiance, with students radiating cheerfulness and happiness.
