Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann visited the village of Ramgarh Sardaran in Ludhiana today to pay respects to the family of Agniveer soldier Ajay Singh. During this visit, he handed over a check of 1 crore rupees to the martyr’s family and announced that the village school would be named after martyr Ajay. Not only this, a stadium will also be built in the village in the name of the martyr. Along with this, CM Mann also mentioned providing a government job to a family member and assured assistance to all possible extents for the family.

On this occasion, CM Mann stated that there should be no category for martyrdom; a martyr is a martyr. There should be no discrimination in this regard. The Punjab government stands with the family in every moment of sorrow. It is worth mentioning that Ajay Singh, the only brother among six sisters, was recruited into the Indian Army in January 2023 during the first recruitment drive of the Agniveer scheme initiated by the central government. He was martyred recently due to the explosion of a ammunition tunnel on the border of Nowshera in Jammu and Kashmir. It is noteworthy that he had come home on leave just six months ago.
