After the order for a CBI inquiry into the new excise policy of Delhi, the political stir increased. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal defended his Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia by holding a press conference and saying that the central government is preparing to send him to jail. He said that all the allegations being leveled against Manish Sisodia are baseless.
“Whole case is false. I know Sisodia for the past 22 years. He is honest. When he became minister, Delhi government schools were in poor condition. He worked day and night to bring them up to a level where a judge’s child and a rickshaw driver’s child sit together to study,” Kejriwal said during a press briefing.
Arvind Kejriwal said that these people are targeting me and our party members. There are three reasons for this. The first is that the Aam Aadmi Party is staunchly honest. Secondly, after the victory in Punjab, the Aam Aadmi Party is spreading across the country. The central government wants to stop it. The third reason is that they want to stop the wonderful work of Delhi.
The Singapore government is calling me in front of the whole world and saying that tell the whole world what work is being done in Delhi. What could be a more proud moment than that?
Moreover, the works of Delhi are being discussed all over the world. When Trump’s wife came, she inspected our schools. They want to stop the work of Delhi, work which is being done in the field of health and education in Delhi. So, they first put the health minister in jail and then want to put the education minister in jail.
However, Kejriwal further said that the case against Sisodia is false, and we are not afraid of going to jail. These people are the children of Savarkar, who had apologized to the British for saving his life. We are the children of Bhagat Singh, who fight against the British till the last breath.
Notably, in November 2021 the new Excise police 2021-2022 was implemented.
