All political parties’ star campaigners are consistently addressing public gatherings for the upcoming legislative elections in Rajasthan on November 25. On Wednesday, Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Ashok Gehlot, while giving a statement, said that Alakmaan will decide his political future. Discussing his role after the election results in Rajasthan, Ashok Gehlot said, “My role remains what Alakmaan has always desired. I don’t determine my character; I stand by the role Alakmaan assigns to me.”
Gehlot also expressed confidence that there is no anti-incumbency in this election, and the party will win in the polls. He stated, “People have made up their minds that the government will return to the state. I am confident that we are moving towards 156 seats. The tradition of changing the government every 5 years will change this time. People are happy with the work being done here. It is certain that the government will be formed again.”
Ashok Gehlot argued, “If Kerala’s 76-year record can break during COVID, we have done more work after COVID. The people of Rajasthan are no less intelligent than the people of Kerala. Therefore, we will form the government again in Rajasthan. The Bhilwara model went to WHO, and we received praise worldwide. There was no famine during COVID. We worked with religious leaders, activists, and NGOs.”
Gehlot also accused the central government of using agencies like the ED in non-BJP-ruled states to bring down the government. He said, “These agencies (ED and IT) are important. Their real work is for economic offenders. Their focus should be there so that the country’s economy grows stronger, and there is no place for economic offenders. Their work in that direction has been suspended for 9 years. Their use is being made to form or topple the government. They are threatening legislators to change the party. People do not like this.”
During this time, Ashok Gehlot also took aim at Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Gehlot claimed that PM Modi used inappropriate language during election campaigning. He said, “The Prime Minister holds a very significant position, and his statement does not respect the dignity of this position because there is a lack of dignity in his language. There should not be the use of violent words in election campaigns. If you speak with love and affection to the people, then you are respecting their dignity. If you speak harshly and want to accuse, there are many words in this language; they should use respectful words.”
