The rigorous campaigning for the seven seats came to an end in Rajasthan on Monday evening. Both BJP and Congress, along with other candidates, left no stone unturned to win over voters until the final hour. Moreover, Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma addressed the people of Salumbar till the last hour of the election campaign. Before this, in the afternoon, he campaigned in the Chaurasi assembly constituency. In both the meetings, Sharma did not miss the opportunity to corner the Congress as well as the Bharat Adivasi Party.
He said, “Congress has never been concerned about the tribal brothers and sisters. They get their work done by telling lies and inciting emotions. They have no concern for the interests of the tribals, but our party will not let the dreams of the tribals be shattered. Vagad is like a crown on the head of Rajasthan. Development of this region is the priority for our government.”
Sharma said, “The BJP government made announcements in the budget for the development of the Vagad region, while the people’s representative of Chaurasi never discussed the development of this region. Despite this, the BJP government started the work of bringing water by making feeders on Som, Kamala and Amba dams at a cost of Rs 125 crores. This project will benefit the tribal communities in the area. The BJP government has given priority to the development of the Vagad region in 11 months. Our government did better work in the direction of water, electricity and employment. The government approved 90 thousand recruitments in the cabinet.”
While addressing the Vijay Sankalp Sabha organised in support of BJP candidate Karilal Nanoma of Chaurasi in Dungarpur, Sharma also mentioned Rajkumar Roat, who transitioned from being an MLA to MP. He said that when Roat was harassed by Congress, BJP stood with him. Congress should be asked whether they supported the tribal community in the presidential election or not. This double-faced character of Congress is not hidden from anyone. He said, “Some people are misleading our innocent tribal brothers and sisters, we are keeping a close watch on them. I have great respect for this community and BJP is the true well-wisher of the tribals.”
CM highlights BJP’s development initiatives for Vagad
The Chief Minister said, “The public representatives of this region have never contacted me regarding the problems of the region because they have no concern with the interests of the tribal people. Despite this, in the last 11 months, we have taken many decisions for the development of Vagad. Decisions have been taken to increase the TSP fund from Rs 1,000 crore to Rs 1,500 crore, settlement of about 2600 cases under the Forest Rights Act, construction of Veer Balika Kalibai Museum in Udaipur, increasing the mess allowance from Rs 2,500 to Rs 3,000 for the students of government and subsidised hostels and residential schools so that the tribal society can be empowered. Along with this, we are also ensuring skill development, education and employment opportunities for every tribal youth.”
