Around 25 social organisations in the city, including the Hitaishi Foundation, conveyed their appreciation to Kulbhushan Goyal, the Mayor of Municipal Corporation Panchkula, for his decision to waive garbage collection charges in the city.

A significant number of representatives from these organizations visited Mayor Kulbhushan Goyal at his Municipal Corporation office in Sector 14 on Friday. Bharat Hitaishi, President of the House Owners Welfare Association Sector 10 and Hitaishi Foundation, along with Ravindra Sharma, President of the Retired Gazetted Officers Welfare Association, Kartar Singh Ailawadi, Secretary of Senior Citizens Council Haryana, and other organization representatives, met the Mayor and presented him with a bouquet.

Bharat Hitaishi mentioned that they had been advocating for the waiver of garbage collection charges for some time. Mayor Kulbhushan Goyal had assured them during a meeting that this matter would be discussed in the Municipal Corporation meeting and subsequently waived. The organizations expressed gratitude for the Mayor’s commitment and relief provided to the residents.

Bharat Hitaishi emphasized that the garbage collection tax imposes a burden on the people, especially when the concerned company fails to collect garbage efficiently. He highlighted issues faced by senior citizens, such as the company’s employees not stopping to collect garbage, causing inconvenience.

The organizations urged Mayor Kulbhushan Goyal to address these concerns by engaging with the company representatives and making sector supervisors’ contact numbers available to House Owners Welfare Associations.

Mayor Kulbhushan Goyal assured that these issues would be resolved soon. Ravindra Sharma praised the Mayor’s decision, emphasizing its positive impact on all city residents. The event was attended by representatives from various organizations, including Prof. BK Gupta, Chief Advisor of Hitaishi Foundation, Kartar Singh Ailawadi, Secretary of Haryana Senior Citizens Council, and other prominent figures from welfare associations in the city.
