American filmmaker Christopher Landon, previously known for directing ‘Happy Death Day’ and ‘Freaky’, has decided to helm a new project titled ‘Big Bad’ after stepping away from ‘Scream 7’.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Lionsgate is in advanced negotiations to acquire the project, which is based on Chandler Baker’s short story. The plot revolves around a family’s struggle for survival against werewolves during a night in an isolated farmhouse.

Landon’s exit from ‘Scream 7’ occurred after actress Melissa Barrera was let go due to her social media posts on the Israel-Hamas conflict. Landon’s departure was later confirmed, and the ‘Big Bad’ project marks his return to filmmaking.

The new film will be produced by Todd Lieberman and Hidden Pictures, with Scott O’Brien overseeing for Lionsgate.
