A video in which a woman claims that she has never seen so many Indians in her life in Canada dominated social media. In the video, she is heard saying, “This is terrible,” and has garnered different reactions on X (formerly Twitter).

She is heard saying in the video shot at a driving license testing center, “I am surrounded by Indians in Canada. I will take a video for you to see. I am at this driving license test place.” She said that many must be thinking that she is in India because they did not know her present location.

Video got more than 2.7 million views along with 2,400 comments and 4,700 reshares on X.

User reactions were all over the board. Frank Deschushin commented, “If this rate of immigration of Indians to Canada continues, then pretty soon Canada will be India West in relatively short order. Indians dwarf all other groups entering Canada in total numbers, and it’s not particularly close.” Another report mentioned indicated a Forbes report showing that India, at 118,095 immigrants in 2022, was the biggest source of permanent residents by far.

Another user opined, “I said this 10 years ago, Canada will be Indianised by 2050. Well on pace if not even ahead of that.” Another comment read, “The government wants Indians. More than it wants Chinese.”

This video also made the rounds recently wherein a professional Indian in Canada talks about an interesting experience from his end. He claims that Canadian employers often tend to overlook the experience garnered while working in India. Piyush Monga, an Indian-origin digital creator behind the Instagram page ‘Salary Scale,’ recently caught up with a professional who had worked as a Process Inventory Associate in Canada for a year. The Indian expat explained in the video, “Ever since I moved here, I’ve been reducing my experience on my resume because recruiters aren’t counting my work in India. It just doesn’t make any sense.”
