According to a US Central Command statement, twenty-two US military members were injured in a helicopter accident in northeast Syria. Although no enemy fire was recorded, the reason of the incident is still being investigated. The Central Command, which is in charge of overseeing US soldiers in the Middle East, said that ten of the injured personnel had been transported to higher-level care facilities outside of its jurisdiction.
This helicopter mishap follows previous incidents in March, where 23 US troops in Syria suffered traumatic brain injuries during two attacks by Iran-backed militants. The statement does not provide further details regarding the severity of the injuries sustained or the specific circumstances of the accident. The investigation will shed light on the incident to prevent similar mishaps in the future.
