Against the backdrop of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), a cornerstone of bilateral cooperation, both nations vowed to protect the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) from its “detractors and adversaries”. The discussions between Prime Minister Sharif and his Chinese counterpart Li Qiang yielded significant outcomes, reinforcing their shared resolve to safeguard the CPEC and deepen cooperation across various sectors.

Protecting CPEC: Pakistan-China Pledge

During Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s visit to China, both nations affirmed their commitment to safeguarding the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) from any threats or opposition. Sharif assured Chinese Prime Minister Li Qiang of providing comprehensive security to Chinese personnel involved in the USD 65 billion project.
