A 21-year-old student launched a brutal stabbing spree on Saturday evening at the Wuxi Vocational Institute of Arts and Technology, located in Jiangsu province. The attack claimed the lives of eight individuals and injured 17 others, according to local police.

Suspect Apprehended at the Scene

The suspect, identified only by his surname Fan, was apprehended at the scene. Police confirmed that Fan had self-inflicted injuries and is currently in a coma, making interrogation impossible for now.

Eyewitness Accounts Reveal Chaos

Eyewitnesses described the terrifying scene. Chen, a witness, noted the attack occurred during the evening when many students were out walking. “I had just completed my third lap when the attack began,” he said.

Incident Adds to String of Violent Attacks

This tragic event follows another incident in Zhuhai, where a 62-year-old driver rammed his car into a crowd, killing 35 and injuring 43. The surge in violent attacks has left communities in shock.
