The city of Hoshiarpur woke up to another bone-chilling cold wave this morning, as thick fog and dense mist enveloped the area, signalling a drop in temperature. As the day broke, fields were blanketed with the white sheet of fog, intensifying the cold while simultaneously reducing the temperature. The biting cold, causing shivers, posed significant challenges for students heading to school and daily commuters.

The dense fog was observed in several places, slowing down the traffic on national highways, although later, the sun broke through, providing relief from the fog and the chilling cold. According to meteorologists, such conditions are expected to persist for a few more days, during which people will continue to feel the bone-chilling cold in the mornings and nights. However, as the spring season approaches, the cold is expected to diminish.

Meanwhile, the Health Department has also issued special guidelines to protect people from this bone-chilling cold. Dr. Balvinder Kumar Dumana, a civil surgeon in Hoshiarpur, has provided specific instructions, particularly for children and the elderly, to protect them from this cold as it significantly impacts their health and can lead to deterioration.
