Fondly known as Chhoti Kashi, Jaipur is preparing to welcome Lord Rama with grandeur and festivity, marking various religious and cultural events in honour of the consecration of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya on January 22. The main event, organised by Shri Dharma Foundation Trust, Greater Municipality, and Jaipur Business Federation, will unfold at Albert Hall in Ramnivas Bagh, featuring the Ram Lalla Deepotsav program.
A remarkable 35-foot tall replica of the Ram Mandir at Albert Hall, crafted by skilled artisans, will be the centrepiece of the celebration. The city will witness a majestic procession, commencing the program, with a unique drone show featuring three hundred drones simultaneously creating a 35-foot high replica of the Ram Mandir in the sky—an unprecedented spectacle visible from a distance of three to four kilometres.
Organizers assure that Ramnivas Bagh will be transformed into a mini Ayodhya during this grand celebration. Various programs and festivities are planned across the city as part of the Ram Utsav, including the installation of an 18-foot-tall idol of Lord Rama at Albert Hall for those unable to visit Ayodhya.
The celebration kicks off with a noon procession on January 22, starting at Galta Gate and culminating at Albert Hall at 5 pm. The procession, led by the Fire Brigade, will be a floral spectacle, clearing the way for a palanquin carrying the idol of Lord Rama. A series of 111,000 lamps will be lit, adding to the festive atmosphere.
The event will feature Maha Aarti, Hanuman Chalisa recitation, and worship with 11,000 lamps conducted by fifty-one Vedic pundits from Pushkar. Cultural performances, Rajasthani songs, and the fragrance of Kannauj’s unique perfumes and roses will create a divine ambience in Ramnivas Bagh.
The sculptures of Ram, Sita, Lakshman, and Hanuman will be prominent attractions, mirroring Ayodhya. The entire Ramnivas Bagh will be adorned with orange decorations to replicate the Ayodhya ambience.
A helicopter flower shower in the presence of the Chief Minister and a grand fireworks display will conclude the evening, making it the most magnificent celebration in Rajasthan, exclusively at Albert Hall.
The event will be broadcast live on large LED TVs in Ramnivas Bagh, with a simultaneous display of the live broadcast of the Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha Mahotsav in Ayodhya at Parakote’s main intersection.
The city will be alive with cultural and religious programs, competitions, and vibrant participation. The Greater Municipality’s discount on electricity consumption during the celebration period and the installation of compost machines in temples for waste conversion highlight the eco-friendly initiatives. Traders are urged to decorate their establishments, with special recognition for outstanding decorations, and a grand procession in Kishanpole Bazaar will add to the festive spirit.
The Kotwali Shobhayatra, bringing the idol of Lord Rama back to Sita Ramji Khand, will mark the conclusion of the celebrations. All traders in the market are encouraged to participate, wearing jackets featuring the business federation’s logo and lighting 21 lamps by 7 pm on Monday.
Manish Khunteta, President of the Business Federation, emphasized unity and urged all executive members to wear a kurta-pajama and the federation’s jacket.
The federation calls for widespread participation, celebrating Lord Rama’s event with enthusiasm and love.
