Channi reveals his govt’s agenda; stresses on free education, health facilities

CM accuses AAP and its CM candidate, Bhagwant Mann of spreading false propaganda

Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi, while revealing the agenda of his government for the progress and prosperity of the state, on Monday described free education, health, livelihood and pucca roof as the most important.

Channi said that he has seen the times of poverty and knows the problems faced by poor and middle-class families. “Our government will provide free education to the students belonging to the SC category in government schools, colleges and universities. We will also give SC scholarship, BC scholarship for private educational institutions and EWS scholarship for children belonging to general category.”

Emphasizing on the protection of health of the people of the state, Channi said that free health facilities would be provided to the people. “Under this, there will be no cost from hospitalization to operation and medicines.”

Our government will get the roofs of the houses of the needy people paved within six months, he added.

Similarly, with emphasis on skill development of youth, professional studies will be encouraged by the government. Channi said that a university is being built in Shri Chamkaur Sahib at a cost of Rs 500 crore. “It will also have contracts with foreign universities. An order has also been passed by the Punjab Cabinet that the government will give interest-free loans to the needy students who want to study abroad.”

The chief minister promised to provide one lakh government jobs to the youth if Congress is voted to power.

Channi also targeted Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party supremo Arvind Kejriwal and the party’s chief ministerial face and MP Bhagwant Mann on the propaganda being spread by them.

“Aam Aadmi Party leaders want to loot Punjab. Every fourth candidate of the party has a police case registered against them. Sixty candidates of Akali Dal and about 44 candidates of Aam Aadmi Party have criminal cases registered against them.”

Taking a jibe at Bhagwant Mann, Channi said that him being less educated can prove fatal for Punjab.
