Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief Chandrababu Naidu has responded to the buzz about his party rejoining the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). He said that he will talk about it at the “right time”.

Naidu was asked about his plans to join the NDA on Tuesday, after he released a document outlining his party’s vision for 2047. He said that it is not the right time to talk about it, but that he will do so in the future.

The TDP was a founding member of the NDA, but it left the alliance in 2014 over disagreements with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). There have been reports in recent months that the TDP is considering rejoining the NDA, but Naidu has so far refused to confirm or deny these reports.

Naidu spoke to ANI shortly after unveiling the Vision-2047 blueprint at an event in the Port City on Tuesday evening. The Chandrababu Naidu-led Telugu Desam Party (TDP) had left the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in protest at the Centre’s unwillingness to grant Andhra Pradesh special status.

Mr Naidu went on to say that his position in national politics in 2024 is crystal apparent. “My priority is Andhra Pradesh. It’s my big agenda. I will prepare for the rebuilding and reconstruction of the state,” the TDP chief said.

Mr Naidu responded to the Amaravati capital problem by saying, “You (CM Jagan Mohan Reddy) are sitting in assembly. You are now seated in the secretariat. Where will you hold the cabinet meeting? Is it only temporary? What Jagan Mohan Reddy is saying is nonsense. They have been operational for the past ten years. Everything was getting ready. We designed Andhra Pradesh’s world-class capital. For nine years, I meticulously planned one of Hyderabad’s best ecosystems.”

It is unclear when Naidu will talk about the TDP’s plans for the NDA. However, his comments on Tuesday suggest that he is not yet ready to make a decision.
