For this, the Chandigarh administration releases a budget of crores of rupees every year. The Horticulture Department of the Engineering Wing is looking after this work in the city.
To maintain it, a Superintendent Engineer, an Executive Engineer, SDO, and Junior Engineer are performing their duties. Jigna, Superintendent Engineer of Road and Building, also has the additional charge of Superintendent Engineer of the Horticulture Department. However, despite spending crores of rupees in the name of beautification throughout the city, neither flowers nor gardeners are visible. Dust is flying where there should be flowers and plants. All the entry gates of the city are also in bad condition.
The administration seems to be in trouble due to the setting of horticulture officers and contractors. The officials are misleading the people and administration officials by making excuses of plants drying up in summers and plants being stolen in summers. An SDO of Mechanical has been given the charge of Executive Engineer of the Horticulture Department, whereas the officer who has a degree in horticulture is not being given this charge due to the SADO posting of that department. Horticulture Department officials are also reluctant to give information about their annual budget. Officials are afraid that the department might be exposed. In the name of beautifying the city, the administration is making huge bribes among the officers and contractors of the horticulture department.
Due to this, there are neither flowers nor any gardeners visible on any road in the city. In the winter season, only flowers were visible on every road and intersection in the city. But these flowers exist only on paper in the Horticulture Department. On the public road itself, by looking at both sides of the road, one can guess whether a roundabout is going on or a Santing! The same is the condition of the entire city.
The same is the condition on both sides of the road behind Sector 9 Chandigarh Secretariat. Officials and contractors do not even fear the administrator and advisor. In the name of beautification of the city, officers and contractors are being exposed. According to the information received, the horticulture department of the administration has given contracts for beautification all around the roads of the city.
Beautification is going on only on paper because of Santing. People have demanded a vigilance investigation into this matter. Horticulture Department Junior Engineer Harvinder Singh is making trouble in the name of plant theft. It is being told that in the name of beautification on Jan Marg, a contract worth Rs 27 lakh has been given from High Court Chowk to Sector 43.

People have appealed to Rajeev Verma, Advisor, Chandigarh Administrator, to get the matter investigated so that the beauty of the city is not spoiled. People say that the horticulture department is wasting government money in the name of beautification. Actually, there is nothing working under spot trader.

The Horticulture Department has issued a tender for this. The SE said that I do not have official permission to present the annual budget of the Horticulture Department. Only higher officials can give information about the annual budget. Wherever flowers and plants are not planted in the Hatare area of the city, flowers and plants will be planted there after consulting the contractors and officials.
