Just wearing a helmet while driving on the road is not enough. It is also crucial to check and verify whether the helmet is ISI marked or not. Instead of being colorful, it would be better if it is white in color, as the white color reflects from a distance. Chandigarh Traffic Police imparted this lesson of awareness to the children of Shri Guru Harkrishna Public School as part of the ongoing 35th Road Safety Month. Organized in collaboration with the Omkar Charitable Foundation, this awareness session on road safety rules was conducted under the supervision of DSP Traffic, Jaswinder Singh.

During the awareness session, children were not only informed about road safety rules, but everyone also took a pledge to follow these rules seriously in the future. Traffic police personnel also educated the children about the dangers to life and property of driving without wearing safety gear through videos. They emphasized that everyone should adhere to traffic rules, use helmets while driving two-wheelers, avoid riding triple, and drive within prescribed speed limits.

TP Singh, Dr. Paramjeet Singh, Nami Chand Golia, and Omkar Charitable Foundation Chairman Ravinder Singh Billa, along with traffic police officers, personnel, teachers, and children of the school, were present on this occasion.

Ravinder Singh Billa, Chairman of Omkar Charitable Foundation, advised the children not to drive or allow vehicles to be driven without a license. Always use a helmet while riding a bike and a seatbelt while driving a car. Do not let anyone drive while intoxicated. Go to your house and make your parents and neighbors aware of safety through you. He explained to the children about awareness campaigns, traffic rules, and road accidents. By following traffic rules, the ever-increasing road accidents can be controlled. Everyone should work together to be aware of road safety. Being aware of road safety means that you are conscious of the safety of your life.
