The Revenue Department employees, including Patwaris and Kanungos, have been on a continuous protest for the past month regarding their salaries and ACP (Assured Career Progression). In light of this, the government has called for a meeting in Chandigarh on Monday to discuss their demands. The meeting will be attended by the Chief Secretary of the Finance Department, Anurag Rastogi, along with several representatives from the association. It is speculated that decisions may be taken to address the salary disparities of Patwaris and Kanungos and to resolve issues related to ACP.
Despite the steadfast demands, the association has announced an extension of the strike until January 31. It is noteworthy that since January 3, the Revenue Department employees, especially Patwaris and Kanungos, have been on a protest path, leading to a complete halt in most operations at tehsil offices. The ongoing struggle has resulted in significant revenue losses for the state government, affecting various daily operations, particularly the registration of land and plots. The government has invited the association for talks in Chandigarh to address their prolonged demands. Following a positive outcome from the meeting, there is speculation that the strike may come to an end soon.
