A delegation from the Registered Property Federation Chandigarh, led by President Kamaljit Singh Panchhi, held a meeting with Rajeev Verma, Advisor to the Administrator. During the meeting, Property Federation Chandigarh members, including Sanjay Jain, Harjinder Singh Monga, SA Khan, Amit Jain, and Naresh Bansal, extended congratulations to the Advisor.
The delegation briefed the Advisor about a significant issue causing distress among the citizens of Chandigarh. Specifically, they highlighted the abrupt closure of share-wise registries in the city by the Chandigarh administration for the past 12 months.

The issue stems from the Supreme Court order, which focuses solely on the heritage status of sectors 1 to 30 in Chandigarh. Despite the Chandigarh Heritage Conservation Committee’s stance that no review is needed for re-densification in these sectors, the UT Administration is expected to decide on the registration of share-wise property in accordance with the Supreme Court decision.

The members urged the restoration of share-wise registries, especially in sectors starting from Sector 31, until a legal investigation of the Phase 1 to 30 sectors of the city is conducted by the Estate Office. They emphasized that the Supreme Court orders do not mention these sectors.

Panchhi stated that the Advisor attentively listened to their concerns and assured the delegation that he would discuss the issue. Members of the Property Federation Chandigarh expressed their unwavering support and cooperation for any efforts aimed at the betterment of Chandigarh.
