Chandigarh Police nabs 7 declared fugitives, including 3 POs

Chandigarh Police’s (PO) and summons staff have been actively pursuing individuals who have defied court orders, resulting in the apprehension of seven declared criminals or fugitives. Hariom Sharma, the Inspector/In-charge of PO and Summons staff, provided information about these successful operations. One of the cases involved the arrest of PO Sitendra Kumar from Panchkula, Haryana, in Chandigarh’s Mauli Jagra area. Kumar was facing charges under the Excise Act at Police Station Industrial Area Phase 12, and after being absent in court, he was declared a PO. Subsequently, he was produced before the court and placed in judicial custody.

Another case saw the arrest of PO Sandeep Singh from Ludhiana, Punjab, at Police Station 36, Chandigarh. Singh faced charges related to his absence in court proceedings, leading to his declaration as a PO. He was presented before the court and sent to judicial custody.

In the third case, PO Rahul Shah, a resident of Burail, Chandigarh, was arrested at Police Station 34 for his involvement in a mobile phone theft case near Market Burail. Following his absence in court, he was declared a PO and sent to judicial custody after being produced before the court.

The fourth case involved the arrest of PO Amarjeet Patel, residing in Budail, Chandigarh, and the slum near TDI City, Sector 119, Mohali. He was apprehended at Police Station-Manimajra, Sector-61, Chandigarh, for charges related to theft, leading to his declaration as a PO.

The fifth case resulted in the arrest of PO Rohit Sharma from Amritsar, Punjab, near Krishna Market, Sector-41, Chandigarh. Sharma faced charges in a case registered at Police Station 03, Chandigarh, and became a PO after being absent in court. He was produced before the court and sent to judicial custody. In another case, PO Latif Mohammad from Sector-45-A, Chandigarh, was arrested near DC Office, Sector-17, in connection with a case at Police Station 19, Chandigarh.

His absence in court led to his declaration as a PO, and he was subsequently produced before the court and sent to judicial custody. Additionally, absconding individual Rahul Sharma from Mohali was arrested in a case registered under Section 138 of the NI Act. After being declared a PO by the court, Sharma was presented before the court.
