Chandigarh Police arrests 3 fugitives under Trafficking Act

PO and Summons Staff of Chandigarh Police arrested 03 proclaimed offenders/fugitives, including a PO involved in a 5-year-old Immoral Trafficking Act case. Providing information, Hariom Sharma, Inspector/Incharge PO and Summons staff, said that the team arrested the proclaimed criminals. In one case, PO Yogita Tamang, a resident of Ekachi Basti, Darjeeling, West Bengal, was arrested from village Ramgarh, Zirakpur, in the case of Police Station 36. Deepak Yadav, Deputy Superintendent of Police, mentioned that a tip-off was received regarding immoral business activity in which a person named Sulkhan Singh was involved with three girls – Yogita, Rajni alias Rajveer, and Harpreet.

All were present near Sector-43 ISBT, Chandigarh. All the accused were arrested from the spot and presented before the court. Later, the accused Yogita did not appear before the court. He was declared PO under the court order. The accused was produced before the concerned court and sent to judicial custody. In the second case, PO Simran, a resident of Sector-40-B, Chandigarh, was arrested from Manimajra, Chandigarh, in a case under the NDPS Act of Police Station 39, Chandigarh. 5 intoxicating injections of 2 ml and 5 injections of 10 ml capacity were recovered from him. A case was registered against the accused, who remained absent from the court. PO was declared by the court. The accused was produced before the court and sent to judicial custody.

A non-bailable arrest warrant was executed with the arrest of accused Ajay Kumar, Shop No. 13, Guru Nanak Market, Badheri, Sector 41-B, Chandigarh. The warrant was issued by the court. The accused was produced before the concerned court.
